Moscow seminar on the use of the electronic consignment note (e-CMR) highlights strong endorsement for digitalised logistics from the Russian Federation and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The seminar highlighted the practical and regulatory aspects of using e-CMR and offered insights into necessary preparations for a forthcoming pilot transport, set to test digital capabilities and demonstrate the advantages to all actors involved in the process.
e-CMR draws strong regional support, with presidents of EAEU member states having signed a Statement on the Digital Agenda of the EAEU, and a roadmap for the digitalisation of member states’ transport systems currently in draft.
Organised by IRU at the request of the Russian Ministry of Transport, the seminar gathered 20 participants from the Ministry of Transport, Federal Customs Service, Road Transport Agency, Federal Authority for Transport Oversight and Russian Road Transport Union.
