General Assembly

Shaping the future of mobility

Held twice a year, the General Assembly is the forum for our most important decisions and the highest authority in IRU. The Assembly brings together active members from IRU's two Transport Councils, as well as associate members.

The General Assembly defines IRU's objectives and strategies on our most important mobility issues

Bringing the sector together

Every General Assembly has a busy agenda:

  • Debating transport issues.

  • Making decisions on IRU policy positions.

  • Interacting with leading external figures on mobility trends and challenges.

  • Holding elections for the IRU President and the members of the Presidential Executive (every two years).

  • Appointing our accounts commissioners and an independent auditing body.

  • Approving our annual accounts.

  • Adopting our annual budget.
