16 Apr 2018

IRU’s Commission on Services to Road Transport Operators, which supports IRU Members globally to follow and adapt to future trends and drive viable services, has elected a new governing board for the 2018-2019 term.

Following the first ever Logistics and Innovations Solutions event, the CSE meeting and elections took place on Friday in Amsterdam welcoming 25 national transport associations, representing jointly more than 500,000 members of their own, mainly transport operators.

Sjoerd Boot from TLN, the Netherlands was elected President, while Öznur Yilmaz from TOBB, Turkey and Martin Kozubik from CESMAD, Slovakia were elected Vice Presidents.

Umberto de Pretto said, “The industry needs to harness talents from a younger generation of transport professionals, and IRU kick-started engagement last week with the Logistics & Innovation Solutions event. The Commission on Services is further reinforcing very concrete steps in this direction.”

With 65% of transport operators planning to invest in digital services in the coming 6 months, the newly elected board will define next steps with a strategy to further support the industry in its tech transformation.
