New animal transport guidelines available to members

13 Oct 2017

IRU has developed new guidelines and checklists for the transport of animals. The guidelines tackle issues such as loading and unloading, feeding, watering and transport in extreme temperatures across the five most commonly transported species of animals. A driver checklist has also been included as part of the package.

The checklists are available in English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish and Romanian. We invite IRU members to share this material with their own members and promote upcoming road shows on animal transport that will take place in Italy, Poland and Spain.

The new guides are a result of a European Commission funded project in which IRU, through IRU Projects, is one of 15 international partners. To find out more about the roadshows or to receive a paper version of the checklists in one of the seven languages, please contact masha.tarle(at)iruprojects.org.
