IRU Academy tackles road safety

With human error the cause of most road accidents, IRU Academy leads the way in offering much-needed support for the industry.

At the 6th International Congress “Road Safety for the Safety of Life”, Dmitry Cheltsov, who leads IRU’s work in Eurasia, highlighted the work of IRU Academy, notably its Crash Prevention Programme. Outlining IRU’s contribution to the UN “Decade of Action for Road Safety” initiative, he showed how IRU Academy is leading the global effort to reinforce road safety with more than 65 accredited training institutes in 46 countries.

Focusing on future road and transport state policy as well as traffic safety systems, the congress was organised by the Russian Federation Council of the Federal Assembly and the CIS Inter-parliamentary Assembly with the Ministry of the Interior. Over 90 Russian and international companies took part and presented over 30 social projects, interactive training techniques and civil initiatives targeting road safety.
