New Year, new partnerships

8 Jan 2019

IRU welcomes three new members to its growing network.

The Spanish Confederation of Goods Transport by Road (CETM), the Employers’ Federation of Road Transport (ALT) in Finland, and the Turkish TOBB UND partnership have become the latest members to join IRU.

Founded in 1977, CETM defends the general interests of the national road freight transport and logistics sectors and represents more than 30,000 associated companies. With a strong European presence, it also has a delegation in Brussels tasked with engaging in and following up on transport related European Union initiatives.

ALT similarly represents and defends national transport companies’ interests in Finland and works to conclude national collective agreements with the road transport sector. It participates in legislative work on a variety of labour market and social affairs issues affecting the road transport industry, both at the domestic and the European level.

Established in 2012, TOBB UND is a joint venture between the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and the International Transporters’ Association (UND).

With service points across Europe, the TOBB UND partnership has over 1,060 clients totalling nearly 176,000 vehicles. It provides effective solutions to national and international transport companies aimed at minimising costs, facilitating trade and transport, and enhancing productivity and business quality.

All three new members will join IRU in helping to shape the future of road transport.
