IRU recognises outstanding Eurasian road transport companies for their implementation of best practices in environmental protection, corporate social responsibility and economic performance in 2012.
On the occasion of the General Assembly of the International Road Transport Union (IRU), IRU President, Janusz Lacny, presented the 10th IRU Awards for the “Best Eurasian Road Transport Operator”.
The Award, organised jointly with the CIS Transport Coordination Council, recognises outstanding performance in road transport management, including the development and implementation of best practices in favour of social programmes and environmental preservation. This year, the jury paid particular attention to Euro norm compliance, financial stability, as well as professional training of staff.
After assessment of entries by an international jury*, Awards were presented to the best company in each of the three different fleet size categories:

Category 1 Award (up to 10 vehicles): I.P. Metelkov (Russia)

Category 2 Award (11 to 50 vehicles): Bercoltrans (Moldova)

Category 3 Award (more than 50 vehicles): Kievskoye ATP 13061 (Ukraine)
The Russian company Selta was nominated for a Special Certificate for the dynamic development of their company. They started in 1999 with just 15 vehicles and now have a fleet of over 4000 vehicles.
