IRU Academy offers effective means to achieve quality standard

14 May 2018

The IRU Academy’s professional qualification standards were acknowledged as one of the most effective ways to comply with the European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) Quality Charter.

Over 200 public and private transport officials from South East Europe met in Budva to review the benefits of complying with the ECMT Quality Charter, and specifically mentioned the positive contributions of the IRU Academy. The event in Montenegro took place ahead of the International Transport Forum’s Summit on “Safety and Security” on 23-24 May.

The IRU Academy offers model professional training programmes with precise certification standards, which can be adapted to country-specific needs. The transport officials expressed their support for integrating IRU Academy training in countries throughout the region.

The ECMT Quality Charter aims to ensure that international road haulage operators across Europe meet the highest environmental and professional performance standards.

Having adopted the IRU Academy standard, IRU’s Montenegro member, PKCG, has ensured that the country meets with ECMT QC standards.
