Myanmar’s leading freight forwarding association has joined IRU to bolster international connectivity and support the development of sustainable logistics.
IRU, the world road transport organisation, welcomes the Myanmar International Freight Forwarders’ Association (MIFFA) as its newest member.
Founded in 1999 under the supervision of Myanmar’s Ministry of Transport, MIFFA represents logistics and freight forwarding companies across the country. Its members are involved in freight forwarding, road transport, warehousing, multimodal transport and customs brokerage.
As Myanmar’s overarching body for the national logistics sector, MIFFA focuses on policy recommendations, capacity building and strengthening international business ties. It is also a member of AFFA, FIATA and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
IRU Secretary General Habib Turki said, “We are pleased to welcome MIFFA into the IRU family. Myanmar plays an important role in regional and international logistics connectivity. By working together, we can support stronger links between freight forwarders, road transport operators and global supply chains.”
MIFFA Chairman Kyaw Lwin Oo said, “By joining IRU, MIFFA will strengthen its links with the global road transport and logistics community, participate in international transport policy discussions, and contribute to efforts to foster sustainable mobility and logistics. This collaboration will be essential to advancing our industry’s critical role in Myanmar and the region.”
MIFFA is headquartered in Yangon, Myanmar.
