IRU 2026 Green Compact survey opens to road transport sector

26 Mar 2026 · Environment

Industry views on decarbonisation progress, challenges and opportunities are sought as IRU opens the 2026 edition of its annual Green Compact survey amid tumultuous fuel price and global energy market volatility.

IRU has opened the 2026 edition of its annual Green Compact Survey with a global call to road transport operators to share their views, concerns and insights on decarbonisation.

The survey is a unique opportunity for goods and passenger transport companies of all sizes – running all types of mobility and logistics services, and in all countries – to have their voice heard.

Conducted in partnership with transport management platform Trimble, the 2026 survey aims to assess the current state of road transport decarbonisation which is particularly important given current fuel price volatility and global energy market uncertainty due to the war in Iran.

The survey, available in 20 languages, takes less than ten minutes to complete.

The annual Green Compact survey feeds IRU’s support, research, advocacy and practical tools for the industry to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

Last year’s survey revealed that, despite high levels of operator commitment to decarbonisation, high vehicle and energy costs, limited infrastructure and complex regulation remain significant obstacles to further progress.

The survey, available in 20 languages, takes less than ten minutes to complete.
