Canada's national workforce development organisation for trucking and logistics has joined IRU to help address the workforce challenges shaping the future of road transport.
IRU welcomes Trucking HR Canada as its newest member, creating new opportunities for collaboration on driver shortage, workforce intelligence, skills development, workforce diversity and the future of the transport workforce.
Trucking HR Canada is a national not-for-profit organisation dedicated to advancing modern, evidence-based workforce solutions for Canada's trucking and logistics sector. The organisation works with employers, industry associations, governments, labour market experts, educators and workforce stakeholders to strengthen workforce capacity and support a competitive, sustainable industry.
A trusted source of workforce intelligence, Trucking HR Canada develops labour market research, occupational standards, talent management solutions and industry best practices that help employers respond to workforce challenges while supporting informed policy and industry decision-making.
The organisation also develops and delivers nationally recognised workforce programmes that help employers strengthen recruitment, retention and workplace excellence. These include Top Fleet Employers, Canada's premier employer recognition programme celebrating fleets with exceptional HR practices, along with practical workforce tools, training resources and leadership initiatives that help build stronger workplaces across the industry.
Another flagship initiative, Women with Drive, is Canada's leading programme dedicated to increasing the attraction, recruitment, retention and advancement of women in road transport. The initiative combines research, leadership development, employer engagement, mentorship and industry collaboration to help build a more diverse workforce.
Trucking HR Canada maintains an extensive national network of employers, provincial trucking associations, educators, government partners, labour organisations and industry stakeholders. It also collaborates with fellow IRU member the Canadian Trucking Alliance on issues of shared importance to Canada's trucking industry.
IRU Secretary General Habib Turki said, “Workforce challenges are among the most pressing issues facing trucking worldwide. Trucking HR Canada brings strong expertise in labour market intelligence, skills development and diversity. Together we will enrich IRU’s global work on driver shortage, professionalisation and the future of road transport’s workforce.”
Trucking HR Canada President & CEO Angela Splinter said, "We are proud to join IRU and contribute Canada's expertise in workforce intelligence, skills development and evidence-based workforce solutions to a global community facing many of the same workforce challenges. By working alongside IRU members from around the world, we look forward to sharing knowledge, learning from international experience and advancing practical solutions that help build a skilled, diverse and resilient road transport workforce."
