Leading European transport firm Jan de Rijk Logistics joins IRU

Jan de Rijk Logistics, a leading supplier of European transport and distribution services, has joined IRU as its newest corporate member.

Jan de Rijk Logistics seeks to remain up to date on key areas related to the operational environment of road transport, such as the EU’s Mobility Package 1 and decarbonisation. 

Jan de Rijk Logistics Director Sjel Wijngaards said, “We are very pleased to join IRU. Our strong interest in becoming an IRU member stems from our need to fully understand and remain up to date on topics and issues that have a high impact on the industry. 

“We also look forward to lending our expertise and contributing to IRU’s activities with our practical approach to topics such as the remuneration of drivers and logistics challenges.”

“They are a leading supplier of European transport, and we look forward to not only helping them achieve their economic, social and environmental objectives, but to also tap into their extensive on the ground knowledge of the road transport sector.”

Jan de Rijk Logistics collaborated with IRU for the first time in July 2022, presenting its pragmatic approach to the remuneration of drivers, a thematic which falls under the EU’s Mobility Package 1. 

Jan de Rijk Logistics provides a wide range of services. Its business portfolio is divided into four areas of operation: international transport, Benelux distribution and last mile deliveries, contract logistics, and road freight forwarding. The company operates a fleet of over 1,000 vehicles and has approximately 1,400 employees and 23 offices across Europe.
