In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that hit Türkiye and Syria, IRU’s Greek member the Hellenic Federation of Road Transport (OFAE) has delivered essential relief items to people impacted by the earthquake.
A caravan of trucks organised by IRU member OFAE has delivered humanitarian aid to people impacted by the earthquake in Türkiye.
Tens of thousands of people still desperately need help. The following relief items are urgently needed: blankets, emergency tents, water, electric heaters, canned foods, and hygiene items.
Many from the global road transport community have reached out to affected people by supporting them with donations. But ongoing help will still be needed for some time to come.
The following organisations are recommended for financial donations:
- AFAD, the Turkish national emergency response agency, and here
- International Red Cross Committee
- International Red Cross Federation and here
- UN World Food Programme and here
IRU members and the wider road transport community in Syria and Türkiye are tirelessly supporting relief and recovery operations. In our previous news on the tragedy, we posted important information and links which remain valid.
