General Assembly

Shaping the future of road transport

Held once or twice a year, the General Assembly is the forum for our most important decisions and the highest authority in IRU. The Assembly brings together active members from IRU's two Transport Councils, as well as associate members.

Steering IRU's work

General Assembly agendas include:

  • Debating transport issues

  • Deciding IRU policy positions

  • Interacting with leading figures on mobility trends and logistics trends

  • Holding elections for the IRU President and members of the Presidential Executive (every three years)

  • Appointing the Audit Committee

  • Approving our annual accounts

  • Adopting our annual budget
