IRU Resolution on the Fuel Price Crisis - 2008
Adopted in the context of a tremendous increase in fuel prices, this IRU Resolution stresses the irreplaceable role of road transport in today’s economy and its dependence on oil. The IRU urges governments and intergovernmental institutions to acknowledge road transport as a vital production tool and to stop penalising it through heavy and discriminatory fiscal and tax burdens. It particularly encourages, amongst other things, the introduction of a single professional fuel duty.
