The Summit brings together Ministers from ITF’s 64 member countries and guest countries with more than 1400 business leaders, top researchers, civil society, as well as local and regional authorities to discuss the trends and challenges shaping transport and mobility around the world.
The theme of the 2023 Summit is Transport Enabling Sustainable Economies. Summit participants will reflect and share perspectives on the role of transport as an enabler of economic growth whilst driving environmental and social sustainability. In this context, the programme will explore how transport can open new markets and enable trade flows, increase access to employment, education, public services and leisure, while minimising its environmental impact and remaining resilient to global crises.
Umberto de Pretto, IRU Secretary General, will be a speaker in the session "A just transition to net-zero: focus on the transport workforce" on Friday 26 May, 9:00-10:30.
