Global Gateway Investors Forum for EU-Central Asia Transport Connectivity

Brussels | IRU participation | Invitation only

The Transport Investors Forum takes forward the conclusions of the EU-commissioned Study on Sustainable Transport Corridors between the EU and Central Asia conducted by the EBRD and published in June 2023. It aims to translate political commitments of the EU and Central Asian countries into tangible operational deliverables. The opening session will provide political steer, setting the scene and framing the ambitions of further developing the Trans-Caspian Transport Network as part of the increased and deepened EU-Central Asia relations.

Tatiana Rey-Bellet, Director TIR & transit, will be speaking during session 2.2 on Soft connectivity II: Making the Corridor Work: Interoperability and Harmonisation for Connectivity in the Silver Hall from 15:30 to 17:00 on 29 January 2024.

This session will provide the opportunity to discuss current challenges and concrete solutions related to rail and road interoperability. Multilateral actors, freight transporters and public sector representatives from the TCTC countries and the EU will share their perspectives and experiences and suggest ways to harmonise and enforce rules that will enhance rail and road transport interoperability.
