Addressing driver shortage: The EU directive on driving licences and what the industry needs

With a rapidly ageing workforce, a lack of young drivers is one of the main challenges facing the European road transport industry in both the freight and passenger sectors, in part due to minimum age rules for professional drivers.
Minimum age regulations for professional drivers are too strict, making it hard to recruit younger drivers. The upcoming revision of the EU directive on driving licences is an opportunity to solve this issue.

What does the industry need from this revision?
And how will the new rules help combat driver shortage?

The webinar will begin with a short briefing by IRU and offer insights from leading members of the European Parliament, IRU members and other representatives of EU institutions.
