Governments and businesses in Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) countries have come together in a workshop to discuss progress on eCMR, the digital protocol to the CMR Convention, the UN’s convention for international carriage of goods by road. 

IRU has broadly welcomed the agreement reached at COP26 in Glasgow to reinforce global climate action and to look to speed up decarbonisation plans in the short term, but uncertainty remains on actual delivery pathways.

Member associations of IRU, the world road transport organisation, have voted for an emergency call to governments on dealing with current global supply chain disruptions.

IRU’s General Assembly has unanimously re-elected Radu Dinescu as President for the coming three years, from 2022 to 2024, along with a new Presidential Executive, IRU’s governing board.
