 On 26 May, the Government of Belarus informed of a new procedure for booking a place in the queue at the border.

Companies should be aware that the service is not mandatory, does not come for free and only concerns transport operators crossing the border with Latvia.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak – updated situation in Sweden (26 May 2020, 15:55)

On 25 May, it was confirmed that relaxations of driving and rest times rules currently in place in Sweden will not be extended further. Therefore, as from 00:00 on 1 June, normal driving and rest time periods will apply.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak – updated situation in Serbia (26 May 2020, 12:00)

On 20 May, the Serbian government announced the end of their state of emergency and the reopening of all border crossing points, with effect from 21 May. There will be no restrictions in place for people entering the country; the border force will however provide hand written guidance on how to prevent the occurrence and the spreading of Covid-19.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak – updated situation in Germany (26 May 2020, 11:15)

On 26 May, the German region of Niedersachsen decided to prolong the suspension of weekend and holiday driving bans for trucks until 31 August 2020. Niedersachsen has also decided to suspend the additional summer restriction (special sections of motorways on Saturdays between 1 July and 31 August from 07:00 to 20:00).

The German region of Baden-Wurttemberg has also decided to suspend the additional summer restriction (special sections of motorways on Saturdays between 1 July and 31 August from 07:00 to 20:00). This decision has already been reflected in the BAG publication. However, Baden-Wurttemberg has not yet decided to prolong the suspension of the weekend and holiday driving ban, which is valid until 30 June 2020.

At a press conference held on 19 May, the Minister of Transport informed that the Ministry will ensure the smooth flow of international road transport by increasing transport capacity and conducting transshipment at borders.
