Europe's energy transition is increasingly linked to competitiveness, industrial resilience and economic security.
For road transport operators, access to affordable energy, adequate grid capacity and the infrastructure needed to electrify fleets will be critical to the sector's transition.
The Energy & Climate Summit, “Energy, climate and geopolitics: Europe's strategic transition for an era of geopolitical disruption”, will take place in Brussels on 12-13 October, bringing together ministers, European institutions, industry leaders, investors and civil society. European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen will address the summit.
IRU Director EU Advocacy & General Delegate Raluca Marian will speak in Session IV, “Electrification as Europe's competitiveness pathway”, on 12 May at 13:00.
She will bring the road transport perspective to the debate on the conditions needed to scale up electrification and strengthen Europe's competitiveness.
