IGC TRACECA meetings are crucial for coordinating the development of the Europe-Caucasus-Asia international transport corridor, overseeing the Permanent Secretariat (located in Baku), and adopting resolutions on transport connectivity.
The 18th meeting will likely involve the handing over of the chairmanship between member countries, as is customary during these annual high-level meetings.
Expected focus areas for 2026/2027:
- Finalising the draft Strategy of the IGC TRACECA for 2027–2036
- Enhancing digitalisation and implementing electronic documents (e-CIM/SMGS) on TRACECA routes
- Developing and strengthening Trans-Caspian cooperation
- Refining the Multilateral Permit System
