The Transport Research Arena (TRA), organised by the European Commission and key stakeholders such as ERTRAC and ALICE, where IRU is actively involved, is the largest European conference on transport research and innovation, addressing all transport modes and aspects of mobility.
As a premier forum for European transport innovation, TRA gathers academia, industry, policymakers, and civil society to shape the future of transport research. The 2026 edition, hosted in Budapest, will showcase European and global know how and will put the spotlight on young researchers and next generation solutions addressing challenges ranging from decarbonisation to autonomous mobility and beyond.
IRU Research & Innovation Project Manager, Silvia Barbaro will present the paper “Integrating Trustworthy AI into CCAM: Enabling Uptake at Vehicle, Mobility System and Industry Levels” during Technical Session 4 / Special Session 3 on Strategic Frameworks for Connected Transport Systems on 19 May, from 16:00 to 17:30.
Developed under the AITHENA project in collaboration with VICOMTECH and Virtual Vehicle, the paper explores how trustworthy, human-centric AI can support the safe, transparent and scalable deployment of connected, cooperative and automated mobility solutions across vehicles, mobility systems and the wider transport industry.
IRU will also be present at the demonstration of the H2Accelerate TRUCKS hydrogen fuel cell truck by Volvo Group, under the project, highlighting the latest advances in hydrogen-powered freight transport and clean mobility innovation.
