As long-term energy demand continues to rise, sustained engagement helps align and better understand expectations, reduce uncertainty and keep investment flowing across all energies.
At the same time, the need to expand energy access remains urgent: around 655 million people still lack access to electricity and two billion are without clean cooking solutions, the majority of them in sub-Saharan Africa and the wider Global South. Closing this gap calls for just and inclusive approaches that reflect each country’s own circumstances and development stages, supported by finance, technology and the multilateral cooperation that OPEC has long championed.
