IRU, the world road transport organisation, has launched a 17-point emergency plan for governments to tackle rising fuel prices and their impact on transport networks, energy security and decarbonisation plans.

A special workshop dedicated to professional driver shortage identified the need to update policy on strategies for better recruitment and retention. An IRU task force was established to forge an action plan and a road map to tackle this important issue for the sector. 

IRU and the Eurasian Economic Commission unite to sign a joint action plan, identifying priority areas for collaboration in 2018.

Following high level meetings in Hanoi earlier in the month, which continued the momentum for Vietnam’s possible accession to the TIR Convention, IRU returns this week to run knowledge sharing sessions with public and private stakeholders on the benefits and operational aspects of TIR.
