Established in 1927, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is the largest and oldest apex business organisation in India. Its history is closely linked to India’s struggle for independence, its industrialisation and its emergence as one of the most rapidly growing global economies.

Being a non-government, not-for-profit organisation, FICCI is the voice of India’s business and industry. It articulates the views and concerns of the industry.

FICCI’s members are from the Indian private and public corporate sectors and multinational companies with diverse regional chambers of commerce and industry across states, reaching out to nearly 300’000 members. It provides a platform for networking and consensus building within and across sectors and is the first port of call for Indian industry, policy makers and the international business community.

In addition, FICCI is the national guaranteeing association of India under the ATA Carnet system which facilitates temporary importation or export of goods for exhibitions and fairs, professional equipment, etc.

FICCI has being using this system since 1989, providing a large support to the industry while securing the Government’s revenue.
