ADR workshop for Arab states

Alexandria | IRU meetings | Invitation only

IRU is organising this workshop on the sidelines of the Arab transport ministers’ meeting to raise awareness among Arab states on the importance of the Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) and to promote harmonised standards for the transport of dangerous goods by road.

Bringing together representatives from across the region, the workshop will explore ADR's structure, scope and practical benefits: from the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous goods to driver training, safety advisers and vehicle technical requirements.

The session will also examine how Arab states can align their national legislation with international best practices, drawing on the experience of the EU and other regions, and will set out a roadmap towards accession to ADR.

IRU Senior Manager for TIR & Transit Development Rami Karout and ADR Expert Sassi Hammami will lead the workshop.
