Policy Intern

JOB SUMMARY: 

We are looking for a Policy Intern to support the IRU advocacy team based in Brussels. The role offers a unique opportunity for a hands-on individual to work with a dynamic team and play an active role in advancing IRU’s policies on EU transport.

This is a paid internship for a period of minimum 4 months.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Senior Advisors on policy, legislative and other work relevant for EU freight and passenger transport

  • Assist with the organisation of IRU meetings, high-level conferences, lobbying workshops, seminars and meetings with EU officials

  • Analyse and disseminate information as well as help with administrative tasks

  • Follow the work of the relevant European Parliament’s Committees and European Commission’s services 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be proficient in spoken and written English
  • Be a student or recent graduate of Political Science, Law, European Studies or in possession of a related diploma
  • Have interest in EU freight and passenger transport policies, with a focus on social, digital and environment related issues
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Have a "can do" attitude and eager to embrace new challenges 
  • Have good organisation skills
