Debate: European Commission’s legislative proposal for zero-emission vehicle purchase quotas

Strasbourg | IRU event | Invitation only

IRU, the European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistics and Customs Services (CLECAT) and the European Shippers’ Council (ESC) are jointly organising a high-level lunch discussion at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

The event will bring together key industry stakeholders and MEPs to exchange views on the transition to zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) under the European Commission’s upcoming Greening of Corporate Fleets initiative.

Fleet operators, freight forwarders and shippers from diverse sectors will share their first-hand experiences in decarbonising operations, highlighting both opportunities and challenges. Discussions will focus on the policy measures needed to support the transition effectively and ensure a balanced and economically viable approach for businesses across the logistics chain.

This discussion comes at a pivotal time. The European Commission is preparing to propose its Greening of Corporate Fleets initiative, a key element of the EU Automotive Strategy aimed at accelerating the adoption of ZEVs in corporate fleets.

This event will provide a unique platform for policymakers and industry representatives to exchange insights on shaping a realistic and effective regulatory framework for heavy-duty fleet decarbonisation.
