IRU, the European Association for Forwarding, Transport, Logistics and Customs Services (CLECAT), and the European Shippers’ Council (ESC) are jointly organising a high-level lunch discussion at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
This discussion will bring together road transport operators, logistics service providers, shippers and Members of the European Parliament to exchange views on the European Commission’s legislative proposal to introduce zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) purchase quotas.
Industry representatives from a wide range of fleets will share their practical experience in transitioning to ZEVs, outlining the opportunities they see as well as the challenges they face. They will also highlight the policy measures they consider necessary to support this transition and express their concerns regarding the proposal to regulate the demand for ZEVs.
The event aims to facilitate a balanced discussion, bringing together MEPs from different political groups and key actors across the road transport and logistics chain.
This lunch debate will provide a unique platform for policymakers and industry stakeholders to exchange insights on how to shape a workable and economically viable framework for heavy-duty fleet decarbonisation.
