AIthena project final event

Brussels | IRU participation

Following three years of research and demonstrations aimed at creating a framework for Explainable and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence in mobility applications, the AIthena project’s closing event will take place on 2 October 2025 in Brussels. The event will bring together researchers, experts, policymakers and industry stakeholders to explore the future of human-centric, trustworthy AI in automated mobility.

The AIthena project has focused on developing methodologies, tools and frameworks to support explainable, transparent and accountable AI for Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM). It has addressed key challenges in deploying AI systems in the transport sector, ranging from data governance and anonymisation to real-world testing and public acceptance.

As a partner in the AIthena project, IRU has contributed its expertise to ensure that AIthena’s results are aligned with the practical needs of the road transport sector, particularly in terms of safety, operational efficiency and building trust in automated technologies.

The event will showcase AIthena’s human-centric methodology, tools for explainability and AI lifecycle management, real-world use cases in perception, situational awareness and traffic management, as well as strategic insights into future applications of AI, regulatory considerations and the broader policy landscape.

IRU experts will attend the event. More information will be available soon.
