The Land Transport Agency is a legal entity of public law (LEPL) of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, which ensures the implementation of the delegated functions in the field of land transport. Land Transport Agency is the only competent authority in Georgia issuing permits for the international carriers of goods and passenger transportation companies according to the international and domestic Georgian legislation allowing them to conduct international Transportation of goods and persons. Moreover, Land Transport Agency drafts technical regulations in the field of Road Transport, and is responsible to control and supervise technical requirement of the regulations within its authority.
The Qualification Center of the Land Transport Agency of Georgia is the accredited institution in the state from IRU Academy, that provides professional qualification courses for Drivers (CPC Driver) and transport Managers (CPC Manager). The instructors of the Qualification Centre were trained by the IRU academy via train the trainer course.
The Qualification Center also provides training of the interested persons/drivers in the following area:
Tachograph study courses for Drivers/Companies/Workshops and Controllers according to the AETR Agreement and standard defined by the EU Legislation.
Study Courses for Drivers providing transportation of the Dangerous Goods (Basic, Tank, Class 1, Class 7) according to the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).
