IRU’s full 2023 Global Freight Driver Shortage Report provides national and regional breakdowns of the chronic shortage of truck drivers, based on a survey of more than 4,700 trucking companies.

The report’s geographical scope covers: Argentina, China, Europe (EU-27 + Norway and the UK), Mexico, Russia, Türkiye, the United Sates, and Uzbekistan – representing 72% of global GDP.

On solutions and best practices, the report features an array of actions implemented by road transport associations and governments – as well as leading transport companies such as CEVA Logistics, Scania and Truckfly by Michelin – to make the truck driver profession more accessible and attractive.
