In a special ceremony at the United Nations in Geneva today, IRU Secretary General Umberto de Pretto has presented UNECE Executive Secretary Olga Algayerova with a special plaque commemorating 75 years of partnership.
IRU briefs TRACECA governments on key regional transport trends
As many traditional routes are under immense pressure, the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) region has to unleash its full potential to keep up with growing transit demand. IRU attended TRACECA’s high-level annual meeting to brief member states and observer countries on major border challenges and opportunities confronting the road transport industry due to evolving routes.

Implementing the EU’s Mobility Package 1: where do we stand one year on?
One year on from the main EU Mobility Package 1 (MP1) provisions entering into force, IRU brought together the road transport industry and enforcement groups in a workshop to assess the situation. Since February 2022, most of the EU’s MP1 provisions have been in force. The industry is working under new rules governing driving and rest periods, the posting of drivers, and access to the road transport market and profession.
