Statistics on Road Freight Transport in the Southern Caucasus
This compilation of statistics shows that road freight transport plays a considerable role in domestic and international haulage in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. However, they also highlights that the volume of trans-Caucasus haulage operations today is insignificant. Indeed, freight traffic bypasses the Southern Caucasus and follows other trade routes and this despite the route across the Caucasus being a major shortcut between East and West.
