Member type:
Goods transport, Associate non-corporate, Transport Association
Established in Rome in October 2016, the Association of Logistics and Sustainable Intermodality (ALIS) was founded as a not-for-profit association to promote environmental sustainability through more efficient intermodality.
ALIS now has more than 1,250 members throughout Italy and Europe representing road haulage and railway companies, shipping and ports as well as terminal operators and freight forwarders.
ALIS coordinates sea, road and rail offerings from different stakeholders, promoting sustainable transport and simplifying inter-modal logistics activities. ALIS’s members benefit from the connectivity achieved between Italy other countries via an extensive network of maritime, rail and road links.
ALIS’s mission is to internationalise its member companies, develop and expand in southern Italy, achieve territorial continuity with Sicily and Sardinia, and reduce CO2 emissions.
ALIS also plans to sign international agreements to improve transport corridors for Italian companies with the rest of Europe.
As ALIS is fully engaged in sustainable and integrated logistics throughout Europe, being an IRU member enables ALIS to share its vision with other IRU members within the Commission on Services to Road Transport Operators. It also provides a natural extension of ALIS’s daily work on behalf of its members in facilitating their activities, creating new business opportunities, meeting challenges and engaging in a shared mission: namely contributing to the development of intermodal transport.
