The Academy is supervised by an advisory board
The IRU Academy oversees our Advisory Committee (ADC), a high-level strategic advisory body of the IRU Secretariat. ADC provides advice on vocational training in the road transport industry and on the overall priorities of the Academy.
In particular, ADC makes recommendations on how to develop training in the road transport sector, taking into account economic and environmental concerns and public transport policy. ADC ensures that training programs meet the overall goal of the industry to improve road safety and productivity, improve the use of technological advances, meet the labor market and social requirements.
ADC is an IRU Academy of international key partners in the road transport sector. Together, these partners verify that the IRU Academy's training scope and strategy are aligned with the priorities of the road transport sector.
Supervision of institutions: admission team
While the ADC Advisory Board ensures the good management of the Academy, the AAC accepts and oversees the development of the quality of our institutions within and outside the Academy.
The committee consists of a group of experts working to ensure that the institution has the appropriate documents to qualify as a certified training institute and to obtain in the future a recommendation from the Secretary General of the Academy to become an official accredited training institute (ATI). The Committee shall provide this by providing their expertise, recommendations and assistance to the Secretary General of the Academy to identify the institutions eligible for admission to the Academy.
The AAC Admission Committee also has an external role to promote the IRU Academy, its programs and activities to a wide audience.
Who are the members of the admissions committee?
The committee consists of the managers of the accredited training institutes (ATIs) for each training program of the IRU Academy, as well as a representative of the Secretary General of the IRU Academy. The successful training institutes (ATI) are nominated and have achieved the highest percentage of certificates during the past two years. It also requires representatives of the accredited training institutes (ATIs) to represent the IRU academy on the geographical scope of the Academy's activities.
