HOW TO MAKE FLEET TRANSPORTATION PROFITABLE?

1. Customer Service;

  • Comfort of buses,
  • Technical facilities and safety,
  • Multimedia service,
  • Trained work power,
  • Satisfying the catering needs of passengers throughout the trip,
  • Clean and hygienic environment,

In short, providing customer service above expectation of customers

2. Reducing costs;

  • Cost effective driving (training of drivers),
  • Energy and communication saving,
  • Reducing intra-city agencies and joint service on sector basis,
  • Establishing a sector-wide corporate structure (joint use of facilities, technology and personnel, call center, ticket sale, staff, etc.)
  • Utilisation of appropriate vehicles and adjustment of the number of runs according to occupancy rates

3. Reasonable price;

  • All costs + 20% profit = A reasonable price which will bring competitiveness against airways and rail transportation
  • Preventing unrecorded business, invoicing income and expenses.

4. Establishing a joint structure;

Establishing a star airline-like model in highway transportation. Therefore, maximising customer satisfaction and improving quality without increasing costs through ensuring:

  • Organisation,
  • Communication,
  • Cooperation,
  • Solution partnership, etc.

5. New technological solutions;

  • Automation of ticket sales,
  • Development of electronic ticket sale systems,
  • Call center,
  • Use of communication systems in buses (multimedia, satellite broadcast, telephone, internet, etc.),
  • Offering a work environment for passengers during the trip,
  • Offering hot and chilled foods and beverages,
  • Bathroom facilities,
  • Tachograph and speed limiters,

6. Owned/leased rates;

Since rail systems in Turkey are not sufficient, randomised (without schedule) runs for short distances and scheduled runs for long distances are implemented from the point of resource utilisation.

Consequently;

Public transportation in Turkey MAY BE A MODEL FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION through

  • Mergers and corporate structuring of firms, and
  • Improvement of the sector infrastructure (terminals, urban projects, service areas, etc.).
