IRU Academy launches Tachograph Training
Geneva - The IRU Academy’s Tachograph Programme, developed in cooperation with the Belgian pilot training institute, FCBO, is the best training available today to guarantee the optimal use of both analogue and digital tachographs in strict compliance with applicable legislation, including EU Regulations 3821/85/EC and 2135/98/EC (on recording equipment in road transport), EC/561/2006 (on driving and rest times rules) and the AETR Agreement.
Head of IRU Training, Patrick Philipp, explained: “The proper use of Tachographs today requires high-level training, as the regulations and technical features of the device make lawful operations increasingly complex. Obtaining appropriate training has therefore become a commercial necessity. “
The new programme offers classroom-based training on the proper use of the Analogue and Digital Tachographs as well as the new Driving and Rest Time Rules, supported by a multi-language state-of-the-art interactive learning tool combined with an extensive user-friendly brochure aimed at road transport drivers and managers.
As a prerequisite to access this IRU Academy Tachograph Programme, training institutes must obtain an IRU Academy accreditation, subject to quality criteria screening. Access to the interactive learning tool and comprehensive IRU Academy training resources are then made available to accredited institutes.
The IRU Academy’s Tachograph Programme is endorsed by leading international organisations*, thus providing IRU Academy Accredited Institutes (ATIs) and their graduates with internationally recognised Tachograph training courses and diplomas.
Successful IRU Academy graduates will be granted access to a private language-driven webpage, allowing them to display and promote online their professional qualifications to potential employers or clients.
