TIR Training Seminar for Associations 25, 26, 27 November 2008

A TIR Training Seminar will be held on 25, 26 and 27 November 2008 at the IRU in Geneva. The course will be offered free of charge in English, although all other costs must be undertaken by the Association.

IRU TIR-EPD can allow TIR Holders to comply with new EU requirements free of charge |
The IRU seminar on “The use of the IRU TIR Electronic Pre-Declaration (EPD)”, organised in cooperation with the IRU’s Russian Member Association ASMAP, today gathered some 200 participants from over 20 countries, including representatives from 7 national Customs administrations and the UNECE. The seminar explored how the IRU’s TIR-EPD can allow TIR Holders free of charge to comply with the 1 January 2009 EU obligation to submit TIR electronic pre-declarations prior to entering the EU territory.
ASMAP President, Youri Sukhin, declared, “It is now time to re-enforce the security of the TIR procedures by implementing the available risk management tools which have demonstrated their efficiency, such as Real-Time SafeTIR data transmission in the Russian Federation, and TIR-EPD.”
