Liaison Committee with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CLCEI)

Development of the IRU activities aimed to defend road transport operators’ interests and maintain sustainable development of road transport services market on the Eurasian continent for the sake of the IRU member association from the CIS Region.

Working programme

• Promotion of the IRU priority issues: road transport sustainable development, trade and tourism facilitation, Euro-Asian transport linkages lobbying their development in government bodies and public institutions with aim to stop neo-protectionism in the road transport industry.
• Harmonisation of the road transport legislation of the CIS Member States by accession to the UN international conventions and agreements, introduction of new agreements in the sphere of IRU interests, establishment of unified and comprehensive technical standards based on the road transport industry requirements and best practice.
• Elimination of non-physical barriers in the road transport of the CIS Member States in cooperation with the IRU member-associations, governmental bodies and business community.
• Promotion of the IRU educational and training programmes through the network of certified educational centres at the member-associations from the CIS Region by participation in the IRU Academy’s activities, introduction of best practices, organisation of professional contests, etc.
• Permanent and sustainable information services to the IRU member associations from the CIS Region by all contemporary means of communication.
• Daily information services to the IRU Russian speaking associations and operators through the IRU-CIS web site in Russian, by organising PR various events, professional contests publishing analytical reports, TransMission newsletter, etc.
