Standard contracts for passenger carriers
So as to standardise conditions of carriage for professional passenger transport by road at international level, the CAJ, in cooperation with various organisations (UFTAA, IHA, etc.), has developed several standard contracts to facilitate related commercial agreements and to provide passengers with a constantly improving quality of service.
It should be explained that, contrary to international conventions and rules in force at national (or supranational in certain customs unions) level, which are mandatory for those subject to them, the IRU’s legal instruments developed for the benefit of the road transport industry (standard contracts, conditions of carriage, charters, etc.) are optional. Interested parties must explicitly refer to them in their own contract to make them applicable and remain free to go beyond the IRU legal instruments to which they refer.
The standard contracts developed for professional passenger transport by road are the following:
- Travel Agent Contract and General Conditions of representation (EN ¦ FR ¦ ES)
- Travel Organizer Contract and General Conditions for the provision of coach transport (EN ¦ FR ¦ ES)
- Hotelier Contract and Standard Rules of accommodation.(EN ¦ FR)
