In the past, the improvement of the road transport industry’s environmental performance concentrated on the reduction of toxic emissions by up to 97 percent. Now the focus shifts more and more to the sector’s greenhouse gas emissions. Optimised internal combustion engines, improvements in aerodynamics, alternative fuels, hybridisation, fleet management and driver training will be part of the necessary measures. At the conference, experts from public authorities, manufacturers and hauliers will discuss the future framework for the reduction of greenhouse gases in road transport.
