Road Transport needs "just-in-time" Customs prenotification!
The IRU Goods Transport Council has declared that security concerns need not hamper trade facilitation, if information technology is used to allow "just-in-time" Customs pre-notification for international road transport. Current proposals for 24-hour pre-notification, based on maritime transport practices, are totally incompatible with modern road transport operations. Full text
