"Modern Vehicles,
Contribution to the Development of Reliable Logistic Systems by Alireza Ghamgosar Modern Vehicles, Contribution to the Development of Reliable Logistic Systems Today, transportation is considered as the indispensable segment of each county's economy without which the development of the economy is hardly imaginable. It is the forerunner and the spurring force of the economic growth. The interrelation existing between the level of industrial growth and transportation expansion on one hand, and their relationship with the country's development ton the other hand have rendered transportation as a criterion indicative of a country's development. Moreover, transportation and its dependent industries are among the most job creative segments of the economy. As you are well aware, today's transportation is implemented through various routes such as air, sea and road. Despite the emergence of quite various manners of transportation, road transportation is the most popular one due to its costs effectiveness and flexibility. The growth and development of road transportation n the past decade throughout the world verifies the aforementioned fact. The unique situation of our continent particularly the Middle East and that of Central Asia underscores the significance of road transportation segment. At this juncture, Iran, due to its geopolitical and strategic location, plays a major role in the arena of transit opportunities as well as integration with globalized economy. Since the advent of civilisation, Iran has been the intersection of Asia and Europe's transactions through the Silk Road. Ages have elapsed and still Iran has preserved and reinforced its unique role. Saipa Diesel, trailing behind close to half a century of experience and recognition in commercial vehicles industry has prosperously established itself as the eminent producer of various types of trucks and trailers, thus endeavouring to contribute to the growth of national economy. To materialise this, Saipa Diesel recently has taken on the responsibility to renovate the domestic and transit truck fleet of the country. We are honoured to hereby announce that our company has managed to offer a full range of commercial vehicles covering light, medium and heavy duty trucks as well as trailers and midibuses. Enjoying the cooperation of the Swedish Volvo Group of Companies, the world's second largest truck manufacturer and the most domi9nant in Europe, Saipa Diesel has succeeded to win the customers' confidence and satisfaction. To familiarise our honourable guests wit the achievement of Saipa Diesel in the country's road transportation development, hence contributing to the national economy growth and enhancing its share in goods transit section, I herby draw your kind attention to some of the company's accomplishments. Benefiting from the cooperation and the state-of-the-art technology of well-reputed companies of the world in the field from the very beginning of its establishment, commencing with Mack Trucks and ending in a close collaboration with Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks Companies, Saipa Diesel, to follow its vision, has always considered customers' satisfaction as an inextricable part of its policy. To achieve this end, the Company offers its products with the same technical and quality standards as those of know-how transferring companies. The results of domestic and foreign audits well verify our claim. Besides obtaining ISO series standards International Certificates, the company has also devoted itself to comply with European standards of ECE ad those of domestic market stipulated by Industrial Development and Standard Organisation of Iran thus ensuring the acceptable quality of the products and production processes as well as meeting the market's requirements. Environmental requirements and transportation road regulations, among others, are the concerns Saipa Diesel feels incumbent upon itself to comply with. As the case is with other countries, Iran has set down certain regulations and technical standards for trucks which are, of course, subject to continual updating. Playing a fundamental role in road transportation segment and holding more than 40 years of experience, Saipa Diesel, has managed to keep up with market demand. This is accomplished by the virtue of thorough awareness of market situation rendered by market survey and R&D studies. Analysing the feedback gained from the end users, organisations and institutions involved in road transportation segment has enabled Saipa Diesel to spot, classify and ultimately meet the demands of the domestic market. This has led to customers' satisfaction and considerable increase in market share. As the overseas markets are concerned, having had Persian gulf Region, CIS, Asian and African countries as target markets, among others, we have successfully exported a significant number of our products to these markets in the past few years. The contribution of Volvo and Renault Trucks Corporations to export Saipa Diesel's products on a buyback and re-export basis as well as their assistance to provide the after sales services through their agencies across the globe is also noteworthy. Cost effectiveness and technological superiority have been our top priorities in producing commercial vehicles. Therefore, offering reasonable as well as competitive prices has been the bench mark to base our strategic planning on. This fact has been underscored in localising our products. Wit the prospect of Iran's conjoinment with WTO and taking our level of production into consideration, we believe joint venture to be the most effective and suitable strategy for our company. The huge investments required for tooling and dies and common platform production are the major drawbacks of adapting a 'from scratch' strategy for production, far from being economical. Therefore, taking the current conditions and limitations into consideration we suppose the commercial vehicle industry in Iran has to compromise with what is already rewarding. |
