ADR - Instructions in writing
The instructions in writing, as mentioned in the newly amended section 5.4.3 of the ADR 2009, are an aid for the driver and his crew to be used during an accident or emergency situation that may occur or arise during the carriage of dangerous goods. They must be carried in the vehicle crew’s cab and be readily available, in a language that each crew member can read and understand in order to carry them out properly. Before the start of the journey, the vehicle crew shall familiarise themselves with the dangerous goods loaded and consult the instructions in writing for details on actions to be taken in the event of an accident or an emergency. The ADR Instructions in Writing can be downloaded by following this link to the UN Website. Nota: Only the text of the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR) kept in custody by the Secretary General of the United Nations in his capacity of depositary of ADR constitutes the authentic text of ADR and its annexes.
