Farewell Message

Intercity passenger transportation in Turkey, differently from developed countries, is mostly done on highways. Our passenger transportation system, which is completely done by private sector, serves as a model to the world.

Turkey, with this quality, has reached the position of exporting Know-How to many countries. Within this scope, many Turkish Road Transportation companies provide high quality service in various countries.

Turkey has made a great progress especially in communication and transportation fields in recent years. Turkey has come to an ambitious position in this global world due to whether its location or its area or its dynamic and young population.

That 31st IRU World Congress is being held in Turkey is an important sign of this situation. Therefore, Turkey, with its success in road passenger transportation and with its knowledge, must have a more effective and active role in the wing of Road Passenger Transportation of IRU. That’s why Turkish Bus Federation (TOFED) is a part of IRU.

One of the missions of IRU is to play an active role in removing the difficulties, especially international regulations, public transportation facing.

On the other hand, whether in Turkey or in the world, regulating the transportation regulations in a way to be more environmentalist and preventing the waste of resources is inevitably for sustainable transportation policies.

As I express my gratitude that 31st IRU World Congress is being held in our country, I am giving my sincere regards wishing results of this congress will remove the obstacles transportation is having.
