CRTA Training Centre (People’s Republic of China) receives accreditation in IRU Academy CPC Manager Programme

The IRU Academy is pleased to announce the accreditation of the CRTA training centre (China Road Transport Association) in the IRU Academy CPC Manager Programme.
This accreditation will allow the CRTA training centre to enhance its training capabilities in national and international road haulage and passenger transport.

Japanese transport operators protest against soaring fuel prices
|
|
|
The Japan Trucking Association (JTA) today organised a national fuel action in the country’s 30 major cities, including a demonstration and an anti-tax increase rally of some 20,000 people and 2,300 trucks. Protesters also submitted a petition to the Japanese government.
The IRU welcomes and strongly supports its Japanese member’s action. Dramatic price hikes in fuel over the last two years, due to rising oil prices and burdensome taxation, are having a devastating impact on road transport operators. Commercial road transport, which has become a vital production tool, is and will remain dependent on oil with no economically viable alternative in sight anywhere in the world.
A single professional fuel duty – significantly below the current minimum duty – should be introduced and applied to all commercial transport industries.

Collapse of WTO negotiations puts brakes on much needed facilitation package

IRU says that the collapse of the WTO trade negotiations shows danger of growing neo-protectionism and will result in continued penalties on road transport, which will lead to even greater penalties on the economy as a whole.
