Accreditation

Only training institutes meeting requirements will be granted Accreditation for IRU Academy Programmes.  To see if your training institute qualifies, please read this section.

Accreditation requirements are key to quality-control, and the IRU Academy takes the process very seriously.  Any training institute wishing to offer IRU Academy training programmes must undergo accreditation for each programme, proving that they meet its requirements.

General Accreditation Requirements

The IRU Academy Programmes are open to organisations with qualified instructors that are willing and capable of offering internationally recognised high-quality training. The organisations that can apply and become accredited to deliver the IRU Academy Programmes include:
  • Road Transport Associations
  • Road Transport Operators
  • Training Institutes
  • Schools and Universities
The accreditation process begins for each programme by completing their respective application booklets available here.  All accreditations share the following requirements:

Training Facilities

    • Each training institute must have its own training facilities for theoretical and practical training delivery
    • Each training institute must have qualified IRU Academy Certified Instructors to cover all programmes

Professional Training Programme

    • Each training instutue may directly use the IRU Academy Programme content and materials
    • Each training institute must design a personalised programme meeting national needs and requirements in full reference to the IRU Academy Programme

Involvement with National Authorities

    • Training institutes shall actively get involved with the national examination commission or committee to ensure that examination and the training programmes are in full sync with national requirements

Accreditation Process & Certificate

The accreditation process begins with the initial contact with the IRU Academy and completion of the programme's application booklet.  The IRU Academy will be in close contact with the training institute during the accreditation process to ensure the requirements are met. Accreditation is granted when all the requirements are met, at which point the IRU Academy and the Training Institute will sign an agreement, the IRU Academy ATI Agreement, and an IRU Academy ATI Accreditation certificate will be granted to your institute.  There are three types of fees that your Training Institute will have to foresee to complete the accreditation process: Application Fee, Annual Fee and Per Student Fee.  All fees are indicated in the IRU Academy ATI Agreement.

Accreditation period and Reaccreditation

The accreditation will remain valid until Accreditation Expiry Date printed in the IRU Academy ATI Agreement and on the IRU Academy ATI Accreditation Certificate.  The validity period differs from programme to programme, please download and read the specific application booklets to see how long accreditation lasts.

Reaccreditation must be obtained prior to the accreditation expiry date printed on the IRU Academy Accreditation Certificate. The reaccreditation process can be initiated by the ATI 6 months prior the accreditation expiry date.

At least one principal programme instructor should attend an IRU Academy Train the Trainer before reaccreditation.

Reaccreditation will be done via the IRU Academy Online website. It will require the ATI to review existing accreditation data and, where necessary, make modifications and resubmit updated documents.
